Linking Curriculum with Cooking
To link with their environmental focus of Rainforests, Class 2 have made a compound salad from Brazil, including learning how to cut avocado. They have also made Brazilian cheese breads. They have looked at how the food we eat affects the environment be it through transport pollution, deforestation and the destruction of animal habitats and even cow gasses!
Class 3 have been making a lentil and vegetable cobbler extending their knowledge of vegan and vegetarian recipes. After they cooked their dish they then analysed graphs to find how diets around the world differ. They have discussed how climate, religious and cultural tradition and economics affects what people around the world eat.
