Welcome
Welcome to Horbury Bridge Academy
At Horbury Bridge Academy, our vision is rooted in Christian values and inspired by the heritage of our local community. This vision reflects our belief that every pupil is a unique and valued part of one family of God, and that by working together, we can make a meaningful difference in the world.
Our vision takes inspiration from the words of Rev’d Sabine Baring-Gould, curate of Horbury Bridge, who in 1864 wrote the hymn Onward Christian Soldiers. This hymn, created specifically for the children of Horbury Bridge, was intended to feed their spirit and instil determination to live out Christian values as they marched to their mother church in Horbury.
We are not divided, all one body we, one in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
Corinthians 13:13
Our Pupils
Our children are at the heart of everything we do. Each one is recognised as a unique individual, full of ambition and promise. We take pride in preparing them for a journey not just to succeed academically, but to enjoy learning, to take joy in their achievements, and to live life with kindness, curiosity, and confidence. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience inspire us daily, and we are committed to helping them grow into thoughtful, capable individuals who thrive both in school and beyond.
Our Staff
At our academy every child is cherished. Our dedicated teachers and staff understand the profound importance of each child’s unique journey. We recognise their individual value and are committed to nurturing their growth—academically, emotionally, and socially. Through a caring and supportive environment, we empower children to explore, learn, and flourish. By fostering strong relationships and providing thoughtful guidance, we help every child build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Community
We are proud to serve the vibrant and supportive Horbury Bridge parent community. At the heart of our school’s success is the strong partnership we share with our families. We deeply respect the individuality of the local communities we serve and encourage our staff to work closely with them, building meaningful connections. The support from our parents—whether through events, learning activities, or everyday encouragement—is truly invaluable. This collaboration helps our children grow with confidence, joy, and a deep sense of belonging.
Our Church
Our school shares a deep and meaningful bond with St John’s Church, within our school grounds. Rooted in Christian values and guided by the principles of the Church of England, we believe that faith plays a vital role in shaping both academic excellence and personal character. This partnership helps us provide our pupils with a strong foundation—encouraging academic rigour while nurturing well-rounded, compassionate individuals. Through shared values and community spirit, we strive to give every child the best possible start in life.
